Today’s exhortation – all means all

With the benefit of hindsight, we can see that God even uses our mistakes and works them out for our good. Joseph’s brothers made a mistake for what they did to him by selling him as a slave and we see that they later regretted it. In fact they put every misfortune in their lives down to what they did. But, God used that too and worked it out for their good. He used their guilty conscience to bring them to repentance and also used Joseph to save them in the end. What they intended for evil God used it for good. The mistake they thought they had buried in Egypt became their saviour and provider in their time of need.

That’s the mind boggling mercy of God! We will all make mistakes in life or have made them already but let’s go easy on ourselves because what happened to them clearly demonstrates that even our mistakes work together for our good. “ALL things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28‬). All means all! We see that even though they suffered for it, in the end it worked out for their good. Similarly even if we suffer for our mistakes, in the end, they too will work out for our good. This is amazing grace. Amen
