And if God is for us…

I greet you all in the matchless name of our Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ. How is this week finding you thus far? I do pray, blessed.

Esther 6:13 “And Haman told Zeresh his wife and all his friends every thing that had befallen him. Then said his wise men and Zeresh his wife unto him, If Mordecai be of the seed of the Jews, before whom thou hast begun to fall, thou shalt not prevail against him, but shalt surely fall before him??

Today be fully aware that if God IS for us, ‘WHO or WHAT’ can be against us? Haman the right-hand man of the king, hated the Jews & a certain Jewish man named Mordecai who sat at the Gates declaring the goodness of God. Haman had been plotting a way to have Mordecai discredited & put to death. He falsely obtained a decree from the king to have all the Jews slaughtered. Haman even had a gallows built on which Mordecai ‘should’ be murdered, such was his hatred for him. BUT GOD WAS WATCHING & LISTENING & HE STEPPED IN!! May I say, WHEN a person digs a pit for another’s downfall, the Bible says they ‘should’ dig two! -God was for Mordecai! Haman’s wife & servant even WARNED him that if Mordecai was ‘a seed of the Jews’, Abraham’s seed, then Haman COULD NOT SUCCEED or prevail against him!! Oh what a God we serve! Jehovah Metphalti -The Lord is our Defence- He stood up for Mordecai. He IS the same God who opened the Red Sea & delivered His people from bondage when the children of Israel were being hunted by Pharaoh. Haman was disobedient though, his wife ‘knew’ of the God of Israel & WHAT He was capable of & famous for, indeed she warned her husband, ‘don’t be silly honey, u ain’t gonna SUCCEED. You’re fighting a losing battle, your status won’t help you either! Do u KNOW who Mordecai’s Daddy is?!!’ In other words!?

Read the rest of this scripture it has a fantastic twist in the tale, ‘a moral of the story’ if you wish & you will see that as he was still defiantly plotting with his wife & servant, he gets an invitation to the Queen’s banquet & he runs there thinking he’s going to be honoured. However, things go wrong and he manhandles Queen Esther when gets there, at that precise moment the King walks in on him & witnesses him threatening Queen Esther; (a Jew herself & one who stood on her faith in God &told Mordecai to call a fast & tell the people to pray for the lives of the Jewish nation &”if I perish I perish BUT I must see the King!” She believed by faith, that God covered and would, deliver her & He did, right at HIS appointed time- such Divine Appointment??. The king heard of Haman’s plots against the Jews; Mordecai & of the gallows he built to kill him on. The king RESCINDED the death decree, falsely sealed by himself due to the lies Haman fed him, against the Jews because of his hatred AND he orders him to be hung on the very gallows he has built!!! God DEFENDED His children, at that moment. When ‘we’ dig a pit, we are told in Psalms and again in Proverbs that we had better “dig two..” in other words, it will come back to you!  These wise words are to show us NOT to devise or collude in another’s downfall, whether it be a colleague, boss, school ‘friend’, enemy, bitterness in families, sibling rivalry, dishonour amongst spouses; children; jealousy in our Churches amongst leaders; brethren amongst themselves or against their Leaders even; unkind thoughts and treatment towards those from different countries, communities or of different races.

In what may appear to be ‘harmless’, frivolous conversation, every word spoken from our mouths that wounds, persecuted, abuses, tears down & hurt (even said behind someone’s back!) have ‘death or life’ in it & it has power. A heart of hate & corruption, however small, will NEVER succeed! It grows bitterness. God will show up to protect His children, He will cause us & the enemy to “stand still & see the salvation of The Lord!”. If ‘we’ are the one doing wrong or harbouring bitterness in our hearts we must quickly get to the place of repentance over these things.No-one ‘wants’ to go to the gallows or fall in the pit. This is a warning for us all to examine HOW we treat people, examine the thoughts we have & speak very wisely & carefully. We must even ask God to  ordain the words which come out of our mouths. WHEN we repent, God is faithful & just to forgive is- FACT!

I hope this scripture blesses & encourages us & helps us change our ways if we are wrong because if we’re honest, we’ve all had “Haman-type” thoughts against people, especially if they’ve wronged us. It is worst still, if we are Christians because we know there is a better way to love & seek resolution with those who trespas. We must forgive & God will then heal our heart & our land. Be blessed in the knowledge that no matter what we are facing, God will show up & defend us, just trust & believe Him, we don’t have to retaliate, leave it to our Father, He knows how to handle it, amen????

Have a blessed week & keep trusting God, He will never fail you. If God is for us no-one can stand against us! In Jesus name we pray,

Samantha?
