1 Corinthians 3:6. I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.v9. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.”
This scripture is mainly speaking of the ‘increase‘ that God alone gives. It speaks of the work in the field of the ‘harvest for souls’. This is precious to Jesus The Sower, this is what He came to the world to do. The harvest (?souls) is plenty but The Labourers (us, the workers) are few.
When we labour on the land in the field of souls, sharing & planting seed? in good soil – (the heart) God will reap His crop.1 Corinthian 3:7″..So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase”. The harvest is coming and Jesus will try every man and woman according to his works in the field. The harvest is the ‘reaping‘ of the souls, born for the Kingdom of God. Teachers/Pastors/leaders in the Gospel of Jesus Christ- His good news of redemption & salvation, are you continuing to sow the seed (the unadulterated Word of God) & ‘feed’ the crop with the undiluted Word given to you from The Sower? You have been instructed by Jesus, to feed his people and tend to His pastures.
Labourers- you & I, are we ‘toiling’ working in the field; loving, forgiving, helping, sharing the gospel of Jesus everywhere we go & in whatever we despite ‘our own trials’, in season & out of season? Just as Ruth did in the time of great famine before Boaz (he represented a type of Christ) saw her grafting arduously in the field, in the hot sun? Are we grafting for Jesus; loving, patience, forgiving, sharing, being kind, being peacemakers, visiting the sick, encouraging the prisoners, clothing the homeless, feeding the hungry & helping the widows, as Jesus instructed us? Check the soil the seed is being planted in, “sow no more amongst thorns;” or on the stoney ground, the thorny ground or carelessly thrown but not taking time to nurture so it stays on the surface and gets scorched by the sun or the birds eat the seed, – the enemy snatching the seed before it takes root. Our actions & love or lack thereof, can cause the seed to be destroyed.
Finally, if we are doing all we have been instructed to do in obedience, we are shining the Light of God through our actions. We are giving freely the love God, without condition & we are allowing Gods word to soak in. Then, by the circumcision of the heart by The Holy Spirit, God gives the increase & as the seed is germinated?, it begins to take root & the seed begins to flower? and they give their hearts to Him.
We all have work to do in ‘the land’ in our homes, our workplaces, on the bus, in the supermarkets, in prisons, hospitals, schools, college, university; everywhere is pasture. We are all labourers and our reward, our blessings, is seeing the crop??flourish which will “yield some 30; 60 & 100-fold, amen??God blesses us when we seek to bless & glorify Him in all we do, through our labours and works. Work in the field of souls. Jesus will give the increase! Love is not love until it is given away?. Give back as God freely gave us. WE can make a difference to someone struggling today, we can help new people struggling to adjust in our communities, we could visit the lonely, the sick, buy someone homeless a meal today or even a cup of soup. They are not invisible, don’t walk buy. Step out and visit the terminally ill; the addicted; the prisoners who feels all hope is lost because of their error. Pray for those in war torn areas. What have WE done today to make yourself proud & glorify The God & King, JESUS CHRIST in us?
Remember always, Jesus is at the centre of it all. Thank you for joining me today. Please continue to pray for me as I do you in Jesus name. Let Jesus be your strength & sheild & He will increase you. God bless u ??
