Today’s exhortation – be the best you can be
It’s been said that your attitude determines your altitude and that was certainly the case with Joseph. Whatever circumstance he found himself in, he determined to serve the best he could. Whether as a slave in Portipher’s house or as a prisoner, he was the best at it. Yet, if anyone had an excuse to throw in the towel, it was certainly him. However, Joseph didn’t complain, he just got on with it! As a result, he earned the trust of his masters and quickly rose to the top. I believe this is because he did everything to the glory of God. We’re also told, “whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31).
Today, many of us are going to go to jobs we would rather not go to, but we must remember that the steps of the righteous are ordered by The Lord. He knows why He’s allowed us to be where we’re. We may not be where we would like to be, but if we’re willing to trust God with where we’re and serve Him to the best of our ability, He will lift us up. It is written, “For promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, But God is the judge; He puts down one and sets up another.” (Psalms 75:6-7). If we’re faithful in little, we’ll be given much just as Joseph was. Amen, have a blessed week.
