Today’s exhortation – our coat of favour

I believe that every Christian is a Joseph in God eyes and by this I mean we are all His favourite. In Genesis 37, we are told that Joseph was Jacob’s favourite son and he made a rich coat of many colours for him. This coat, represented his father’s favour and made him to stand out from everyone. We’re also told that Joseph’s brothers hated him for being his father’s favourite and they hated him even more for the coat. This is why Christians are always persecuted. Every human being is God’s child, but the Christian is His favourite because we’re in Jesus and His blood sets us apart and marks us for special favour. We’re joint heirs with Christ!

It’s no wonder that every time Joseph was attacked, his coat was taken off him. The enemy always tries to remove the coat of favour off us, but even if he takes the coat, God will still be with us. Even through Joseph didn’t have his coat with him as a slave, we’re told that God was with him and blessed everything that he did. That means that as Joseph’s too, God will never leave us nor forsake us and His favour will be with us wherever we go in Jesus Name. The bible says, “See what great love The Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.”‭‭ (1 John‬ ‭3:1‬). Amen
