Today’s exhortation – first to last/last to first

The life study of Joseph reveals similarities with his story and that of our Lord Jesus Christ. What is evident is that quite often when God says we will become something, the opposite thing happens to us before it comes to pass. Eg, God showed Joseph he will become a ruler and the next thing that happens to him is that he became a slave. Our Lord Jesus who was to born to be the King of kings, but came first us a servant! God may say to us, “I’ll make you wealthy” and the next thing is we find ourselves in more poverty and debt than ever before or He may say, “you shall be the head and not the tail”, but we find ourselves being the tail for years.

Many of us are experiencing that right now! God has told us we will become something, but nothing in our lives at the moment suggests that’s ever going to happen. Don’t be discouraged, you’re not alone. I believe it’s God’s way of preparing us for what He has in store for us. The Lord said, “He who wants to be first, must first become last!” I also believe He does that so that no one can boast that they did it themselves. He says, “I Am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another.” (Isaiah‬ ‭42:8‬). Let’s hold onto His unfailing love because He’s not man that He should lie! If He has said it then it will surely come to pass. Amen!
