Today’s exhortation – His banner is love

We are all too aware that life is a battle and everyday brings about new challenges and fresh warfare, but we are never alone. The Lord Jesus Christ who is the Captain of our salvation leads us into battle every day. As He leads us into battle, His banner over us is ‘LOVE’. (Song of Solomon 2:4). Even though we may wake up not knowing what lies ahead of us, The Lord Jesus does because He’s already been in today and tomorrow and fought for us. As Moses said, “The- LORD -Is-My-Banner” which is, Jehovah NISSI. Whilst other armies have images of animals and other things as their banner, our’s is LOVE. He’s the One who flies over our heads when we go into battle and the one who goes before us.

Let’s not fear what today or tomorrow may hold because our God has already secured the victory for us in Christ Jesus. Whether we are happy, sad or feeling unloved, there’s something wonderful hanging over us and it reads ‘LOVE’. Though we may not see it, God’s love goes before us each day to fight for us. The banner is our standard in warfare and the bible says, “When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.”(Isaiah‬ ‭59:19‬). Hallelujah! Amen!
