Today’s exhortation – Pity doesn’t move mountains.

One day, I was feeling down and sorry for myself so I decided to have a pity party. I just wanted to be alone and do nothing but linger in bed. The last thing I felt like doing was to pray but I also knew there was no other way out so I prayed. I said “God please speak to me, I am down and need a word of comfort.” As soon as I said “amen,” I heard “Pity doesn’t move mountains, faith does!” I was stunned because I was expecting that response and yet I knew The Lord had spoken to me. It wasn’t what I wanted to hear, but it was what I needed to hear. I had to stop being a baby and get a hold of myself.

Sometimes it feels good feeling sorry for ourselves, but that won’t help. Christians are also soldiers and soldiers fight! May be you are having a pity party at the moment, but Pity doesn’t move mountains faith does! It’s time to roll up your sleeves and steel yourself to fight out of the mess or situation. The bible says, Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder… (Romans 12:13 MSG). Perhaps the time has come for you to to say ‘Who are you, O great mountain?…you shall become a plain in Jesus Name!’ Amen
