Today’s exhortation – don’t be moved!
I believe it’s not how we start the race of life that matters the most, but how we finish it. The Christian life is one of adversity after adversity. We face all kinds of trials, pain, rejection, discouragement and more questions than answers, but giving up is not an option! In the early church, when the disciples were persecuted, they didn’t pray for God to take it away, they prayed for more boldness to go through. The bible says, And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness! (Acts 4:31).
The apostle Paul having been warned of persecutions awaiting him remarked, “none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy…” (Acts 20:24). We are not in the quitting business, so come what may, we must resolve never to be moved! By God’s grace when it’s all said and done, we can declare like Paul, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (II Timothy 4:7). Amen!!
