Today’s exhortation – we are precious

God’s love for us has always been unconditional and yet we occasionally fall prey to feelings of worthlessness. If you take a crisp £50 or $100 note and crumple it and put it in dirt, it will still be a £50 or $100 note. It doesn’t lose its value because it’s dirty and no longer crisp. I believe God’s value of us never diminished even when sin made us unclean and that is why The Lord Jesus came and died for us. The bible says, But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭4-6‬).

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬). Even after we come to The Lord, we will sin and make mistakes and there’s always the temptation to shrink back and think God can’t possibly love me after this. I find that the people with the worst mistakes are often used by God mightily. Moses and Paul were murderers, Jacob was a liar and God still used them. There’s no sin so great that it can’t be cleansed by the blood of Jesus. If you have lost your self worth, call on Jesus as your Lord and He will open your eyes to your worth. Amen
