Today’s exhortation – new creation

One of the devil’s biggest weapons against us is to attack our identities. The devil knows once we know who we are in Christ we will be able to do the things Jesus did and that will make us unstoppable. The first temptation the devil brought against Jesus was about His identity. The devil said to Him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’ ”(‭Luke‬ ‭4‬:‭3-4‬). It didn’t matter to the devil that Jesus had just heard The Father say to John The baptist, “this is My beloved Son in whom I Am well pleased.”

However, The Lord was secure in who He was so He didn’t fall for it. Instead, He pointed the devil to the one thing that he can’t fight, which is the word of God. An eg. of how he does this with us is to question our heritage us children of God in Jesus. Some of us are still feeling ashamed and condemned about our past mistakes such as having had an abortion or having criminal convictions, but they done define us. God forgives and forgets and furthermore we are new creatures in Christ. It is written, both the One who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. (‭Hebrews‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬). It is also written, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, (‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭1‬). Amen
