Today’s exhortation – A Friend in Jesus

I went through a very difficult time with my health and finances some years ago, but didn’t let anyone know what I was going through. One day it got too much and I broke down before The Lord in my room. I sat on my bed feeling tired and dejected. Several days later, The Lord showed me a picture of that moment. I saw Him sitting next to me with His arm around my shoulder. He had tears running down His face and He seemed to be telling me “You’re not alone, I Am here.” I was immensely comforted that. I must say that I don’t know why He didn’t stop the trouble from happening; but I do know with absolute certainty that it’s true when He says,

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. (Isaiah 43:2). The verse doesn’t begin with ‘if’, it begins with ‘when’. This tells me that we will pass through the waters, rivers, fires like sickness, depression, debt, unemployment, loneliness, grief, sorrow etc, but they will not overcome us because The Lord will always be with us. He says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”(Hebrews 13:5). I am a living witness that even in our darkest moments The Lord Jesus is with us. He’s truly a friend indeed to a friend in need. I hope you are having a blessed week and may The Lord continue to bless you. Amen
