Today’s Exhortation – Our loving Father

Most paintings we see of God are of an angry and judgemental looking Person. I believe it has caused us to form an inaccurate view of Him. The Lord Jesus is the image of The invisible God( Colossians 1:15) and we learn from the bible that little children followed Him everywhere. To me, there must have been something so endearing and fun about Him that made children always want to be around Him. We can therefore deduce that’s how The Father is. The first miracle The Lord Jesus did was turning water into wine at a wedding. Weddings are places of joy and celebration.

The bible says, in His presence is fullness of joy and at His right hand pleasures forevermore. (Psalms 16:11). It also says, The One enthroned in heaven laughs… (Psalm 2:4). Does that sound or look like an angry judgemental person? The whole scriptures point to a God who has been pursuing His wayward children to come back to Him. He’s not looking for every opportunity to punish us. It is written, The Lord… is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (II Peter 3:9). Our Father loves us and declares, For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11). Amen, have a blessed week
