Today’s exhortation – I Am willing

We will never fully know the depth of the love of God for us. The Lord Jesus demonstrated a bit through this story. The bible says, And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. (Matthew 8:2,3). In those days, a leper was not allowed to come in the midst of the people because leprosy was a highly contagious disease. Lepers lived in colonies outside the city. If they came among the people, they had to shout “unclean, unclean” to warn people of their presence.

When he told The Lord, “Lord if You are willing You can make me clean.” The Lord didn’t drive him away, He went a step further and touched him and said, “I AM WILLING be cleansed.” What The Lord did was what He saw God The Father doing because He only did what He saw the Father do. The Father was willing that the leper was clean and it was the Father who touched the leper nobody will touch because he was unclean. This is the love and grace of God revealed to us. The scripture says, Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (III John 1:2). No one is too unclean for God, He is willing to make clean anyone who comes to Him for help. The cross of Calvary did its job, the blood of Jesus washes whiter than snow. Amen
