National Day of Prayer for Police

Thursday 5th May is Ascension Day which means that it is also the National Day of Prayer for the Police. Londoners will know it’s also the day of the Mayoral Election.

Please support the national day of prayer for the Police Service, by praying throughout the day on the following points.

Please also encourage your churches, and small/home groups to do the same.

Here is a prayer guide which breaks up an hour into 5 minute slots each with specific points to pray on. Even if you can’t spare a whole hour, please download and print, and spread the points out through out the day. prayer guide

If this isn’t for you, but you’d still like to be involved, please focus on the following points:

  • The morale of officers and staff in these challenging times.
  • Officers to remain safe at a time when staffing levels remain stretched.
  • Honesty and Integrity remain central core values.
  • For strong inspirational managers and leaders.
  • Innovate & inspire to do things more effectively and efficiently.
  • Peace & new jobs for staff who are facing redundancy.
  • Wisdom to balance and resource the management of serious crimes, terrorism and the wide range of important local community issues that the police strive to deal with every day.

Specifically for the London Mayoral Election: please pray that the voting will be peaceful and without controversy, spare a thought for the many officers who have had a rest day cancelled to help keep this election safe and fair.
