Today’s exhortation – better than we think

I believe sometimes things don’t work out the way we want them to because God has something better for us. We may pray for something and see a door open and think this is definitely it, but just as we are about to get it, the door gets closed in our faces. The bible says, There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. (‭Proverbs‬ ‭14‬:‭12‬). God knows the end from the beginning and maybe that path may have brought us harm or unwanted pain. I know it can be discouraging when it doesn’t go our way, but in hindsight we will look back and say “thank You God. I see why it didn’t happen the way I wanted it to.”

We can trust that God wants nothing but the best for us. The Lord Jesus said, “You fathers—if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? Or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father…” (‭Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭11-13‬). We know that our Heavenly Father is able to to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think so perhaps, if things don’t work out the way we want or expect them to, then He may very well have something exceedingly abundantly above what we thought or asked for. Amen
