Today’s exhortation – shout grace to it

I have struggled with some things in my walk with God and promised Him I will change, but unfortunately I haven’t been able to. I have tried in all my strength to, but I failed every day. I know God loves me, but that’s not the point. I wanted to be able to fulfil my promise myself so I did everything I could. As a result of my failure, I felt guilty everyday and couldn’t feel free before Him. Last week, I gave up and told Him I couldn’t do it. A while later I felt The Lord say, “how about I do it for you? When you are weak I Am strong. My strength is made perfect in your weakness.” I realised that I had got it wrong again. I had departed from the basic truth that apart from Him, we can do nothing!

The Lord reminded me of these verses, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts. ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” ’ ” (‭Zechariah‬ ‭4‬:‭6-7‬). He said, we are to shout “grace, grace” to our problems. We know that grace is God’s unmerited favour and also His doing for us what we can’t do for ourselves. So shouting grace to the mountains in our lives means we have left them to God and He will do it for us. Those big or small problems and struggles will be nothing because by the grace of God, His Holy Spirit will do it for us. Have a blessed week. Amen
