Today’s exhortation – Jesus our joy
The bible is a wonderful book filled with many revelations and each time we read it, we may get new insights. One such insight is the comparison between Isaac and The Lord Jesus Christ. Isaac was the son of promise who’s name means laughter because he brought joy, but Isaac was a picture of the real Son of promise, The Lord Jesus. At the birth of Isaac, Sarah declared that all who heard of the miracle of his birth will laugh with her. At Jesus’ birth, those who heard it were filled with an exceedingly great joy (Matthew 2:10) and hosts of angels sang with an greater zest, “joy to the world.”
We still feel the impact of that wonderful and exceedingly great joy today. The amazing joy of having The Lord Jesus in our lives can’t be quantified and the benefits are endless. He has set us free sin and death and we are no longer slaves to fear. Because He lives, we can face tomorrow. We don’t have to shy away from God when we sin as Adam did in the garden of Eden because there’s therefore now, no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Above all, He has given us His Holy Spirit to help and comfort us and that alone is more than enough a reason to be joyful. How many times have we been in trouble and called upon the Name of Jesus and seen Him come through for us? Indeed He has done great things. Praise be onto the Lord Jesus our joy and laughter. Amen!!!
