Today’s exhortation – breakthrough

It’s very difficult to pray for others when you are in a similar situation to them, but that’s precisely what God asked Abraham to do. Abimelech took Sarah into his house because lied and said she was his sister as opposed to his wife. Because of that God prevented all the women in his house from giving birth. That was the exact problem Sarah had, she was barre too. Remember that Abraham had been praying for years for his wife to have a child but nothing had happened. But the bible says, So Abraham prayed to God; and God healed Abimelech, his wife, and his female servants. Then they bore children; (‭Genesis‬ ‭20‬:‭17‬)

This story tells me that we shouldn’t think that because God has not answered our prayers for our own needs we cannot pray for others. We need to forget about our unanswered prayers and pray for others. When Abraham forgot his need and interceded for Abimelech and his house, not only were their needs met but also his. If you forget your need and pray for the needs of others, God will not only answer your prayer for them but also your prayer for yourself. He will take care of your needs. In the very next chapter, Isaac was born. May God answer your need as you minister to others needs. Amen
