Today’s exhortation – show me Your Face

Some years ago, I read this verse and it changed my life, ‘So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend… (Exodus 33:11)’ It became my desire to be God’s friend and to speak to Him face to face. One day whilst praying, The Lord asked me, “what was Moses doing when I spoke to him face to face ?” It dawned on me that Moses was praying for the people of Israel !! Then He told me to look at this verse again…Genesis 18:22- ‘Then the men turned away from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before the Lord.’
Abraham too was interceding for Sodom and Gomorrah when he spoke to The Lord face to face.

The Lord said to me “if you want to see My Face, intercede for others, stand before me for them.” Intercession is coming between two parties, to plead before one of them on behalf of the other. It’s also taking hold of God’s promises on behalf of another and praying for them until He brings them to pass. Paul said, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people … This is good, and pleases God our Saviour” (1 Timothy 2:1,3). Even now our Lord Jesus is interceding for us. (Hebrews 7:25). Abraham, Moses, Elijah and Daniel were all known to be friends of God and great intercessors. He hasn’t shown me His face yet, but I won’t relent until He does and also calls me, friend. I pray the same for you. Amen
