Today’s exhortation – changes
Changes can be daunting to say the least but I don’t believe it’s all bad. Some may be forced on us and others may not. The LORD said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. (Genesis 12:1) My guess is, the change may have been daunting for him at the time, because he had to leave all he knew and was used to behind. But, if he had remained where he was, he wouldn’t have taken possession of what God had planned for him. A friend of mine was recently served notice to move from the house she’s lived in for 10 years. The house holds strong memories for her because her late husband passed away in the house and she’s brought up her kids there.
On the face of it, we may say “O God why have you let this happen to her, hasn’t she had enough already?” What seemed like a painful circumstance at the time is no longer the case because she’s moving to a bigger house with more rooms, bigger garden, garage, better location and much more than she dreamed of. I call that an upgrade! Just like Abraham was upgraded too. Let’s embrace change when it comes because it’s an opportunity for new beginnings. I believe when God takes away something from us or allows it to be taken, then it’s because He has something much better for us. Amen
