Today’s exhortation – soul ties

One of the areas to deal with before driving out demons is Soul ties. What are they? They’re invisible ties that bind us to another person. There are two types, godly and ungodly soul ties and we’ll look at the ungodly one first. This is an ungodly covenant with another person based on an unhealthy emotional and/or sexual relationship. What soul ties do is create emotional and spiritual connections with another person that are sexual, controlling, excessively emotional or psychologically reliant or perverted. Eg of soul ties are, if you are married and you try to make love to your spouse and find yourself often having memories of other lovers or sexual partners at the same time or you find yourself always comparing your spouse to a previous partner.

Other times, people will say, “I don’t know why but I find myself always going back to him/her, I can’t resist. When they call, I go running.” Also having sexual dreams of old partners. Soul ties are like ropes attached to your waist and they’re connected to each person with whom you’ve had an emotional or sexual relationship. Unless they’re broken you’ll always be tied to them. The bible says, “do you not know and realise that when a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? The two, it is written, shall become one flesh. [Gen. 2:24.]” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:16‬ ‭AMP‬‬). Again, one of the reasons why God warns us not to have sex before or outside marriage is because any demonic activity from one person transfers to another during sex as the two become one flesh.
