Today’s exhortation – no need to worry!

Recently, I have been worrying about a few things I’ve been praying for that haven’t been answered yet and it’s because it’s taken longer than I expected. But I woke up this morning to pray and these verses came to me and I believe it’s for anyone who is in a position like me. The verses were, “Then I said to you, “Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as He did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the wilderness. There you saw how The Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.” In spite of this, you did not trust in the Lord your God, who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and in a cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go.” ‭‭(Deuteronomy‬ ‭1:29-33‬).

To be honest with you I was so elated to read this but I also became aware that my actions had been like the Israelites who despite seeing all the wonders that God had done for them still didn’t trust Him to deliver them so I repented and asked God for His forgiveness. The next verse that came to my attention was even more beautiful. It says, “Even to your old age and gray hairs I Am He, I Am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” (Isaiah‬ ‭46:4‬). Hallelujah! Who are we that God is so mindful of us and pours His heart out to the way He does? We are His children! Thank You Father for Your blessed assistance.
