Today’s exhortation – 2016 year of intimacy

Every new year, I seek The Lord for a word for the coming year and for 2015 He said – “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts. ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” ” Zechariah‬ ‭4:6-7‬). Unbeknownst to me, this year on the Jewish calendar was a year of double grace! A sabbath year and a jubilee year. A year of rest and a year where prisoners were set free and lands were restored to their rightful owners. No wonder there was a command to shout “Grace, Grace.” I can testify that “The LORD has done great things for us, And we are glad.” (Psalms‬ ‭126:3‬).

So what of 2016? I believe The Lord says 2016 is a year of ‘Intimacy.’ A year of just getting to know Jesus! The verse for 2016 is this, “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and may share His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death,” (Philippians‬ ‭3:10‬). I also believe He says, “Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.” (Psalms‬ ‭126:5‬). The Lord wants us to cast all our burdens on to Him and like David say, “One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.” (Psalms‬ ‭27:4‬). Have a blessed week.
