Today’s exhortation – Amazing

Now supposing The Lord Jesus was born on 25th December over two thousand years ago, today would’ve been two days after His birth. Fast forward to today, the Christmas Day is over and all the joy and excitement people felt about it is waning. The excitement and thrill of eating loads of food, opening presents and spending time with friends and family is over for at least another year. But going back to two thousand years ago, the excitement of The Lord’s birth didn’t wane after two days, in fact it grew. First, angels burst for joy at His birth and appeared before shepherds in the fields singing, ““Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”” (Luke‬ ‭2:14‬). Why all this excitement? Because, “The Word-God became Human and made His home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness..” (John‬ ‭1:14‬).

The excitement grew for Mary and Joseph, first shepherds came to see The Lord, wise men from the east appeared bearing gifts with tales of being led by a star to them. With all these goings on, the bible says, “But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.” (Luke‬ ‭2:19‬). What happened then is still so amazing it’s worth pondering in our hearts! God became man and dwelt among us! Wow! Salvation had come to mankind and Isaiah prophesied, “Therefore with joy you will draw water From the wells of salvation. (Isaiah‬ ‭12:3). Hallelujah!
