Today’s exhortation – God trust you!
One thing we must be absolutely certain of is that, God is a good, good Father. We never suffer in vain. There are many reasons why He may allow afflictions in our lives and I believe one of them may be because He trusts us to respond in a way that will enable Him to bless others. Paul and Silas were arrested, beaten and thrown into jail for doing God’s work. The bible says, “at midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. Then the jailer called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”” Acts 16:28-30).
If anyone was justified to ask why they were suffering it was these two, but they trusted that God knew what He was doing and so praised Him regardless. Their praise brought the presence of God into their circumstances and all those who were there were blessed and set free. I also believe the prisoners and the jailer were on God’s heart so He sent His two trusted servants into the jail to set them free. Similarly, you may be going through at the moment because God trusts you to praise Him in the midst of it so that He may set others free through your faith and hope in Jesus.
