Sgt Phil Brewster has successfully completed the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 cycle event. He embarked on this challenge to help raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity, a charity that works to research the same condition that his mother (and Metropolitan Police Chaplain) the Revd Susan Brewster struggled with before passing away in June of this year.
“The ride was hard but certainly memorable, and very much an emotional journey as well as a physical one.
The just giving page now shows over £2500 in funds raised which is amazing.
It was good for me personally too, one of the many hurdles to clear in dealing with my loss, and at moments a real “footprints in the sand” feeling to it, a reflection in mums strengths in me and the Lord assisting me up some of the hardest parts of the ride! I remember at one point beginning to recite the 23rd psalm to help me on. The joy and elation finishing the ride was almost indescribable and a celebration of life itself, I know mum would have been proud had she been there in person to see it.”
